Indiana State Archives

The Indiana State Archives is the permanent repository for important records of state government. Its holdings include approximately 25,000 cubic feet of records dating from the territorial period to the present. Genealogists can find a host of valuable research materials including: African-American Research, Birth Certificates, Clerks of the Circuit Court Address List, Death Certificates, Hoosier Homestead Award Database, Major Family History Resources, Marriage Certificates, Naturalization Resources, and Naturalization Databases.

Indiana State Library

The Indiana State Library provides an excellent library of genealogy records including: family histories, indexes to records, how-to books, cemetery transcriptions, family history magazines, and more, as well as microfilmed federal census records, Indiana county records, passenger lists, and military pension information. The collection includes hundreds of CDs with family history information, as well as online subscriptions to AncestryPlus and HeritageQuest.
